Does it really work offline?
Yes. All completion happens on your Mac using a local model and Metal — there is no inference network call, ever. The only outbound traffic is the optional update check, the one-time model download, and license issuance (your email + key). Turn off Wi-Fi and Shadowtype keeps completing.
What about my privacy?
Your keystrokes never leave the device. There is no telemetry, no analytics backend, and no account. Password and secure fields are never read. The personalization profile is stored encrypted on your Mac and you can wipe it any time. You keep full copyright of everything you write.
What's free vs. what does Pro unlock?
The free tier is genuinely useful forever: system-wide ghost text, Tab-to-accept, emoji, typo suppression, screen-aware context, and lighter/mid-size models — capped at 100 accepted words per day. Pro removes the cap and unlocks full autocorrect, personalization, clipboard context, custom & per-app instructions, configurable completion length, the largest models, and Labs features.
How is the Founders price structured?
Pro is a single one-time purchase — never a subscription. The permanent price is $79. During the beta it sells on a Founders ladder that rises as seats fill: $39 for the first 100 buyers, then $49, then $59 — whatever tranche is live when you buy locks in for good.
